My First Tripod
on: November 15, 2007, 09:11:29 AM
Well ... since my purchase of a Nikon D40 I am on the hunt for a beginners tripod.  Ideally, want something lightweight, that folds down and has a bag would be good.  I am also 56 so something designed for hobbits rather than Gandalf.  I would also like to be able to put it up - put it away with ease.

No budget in mind, but recommendations would be good.

(EDIT: Someone recommended me a Manfrotto 190XProB with 322RC2 head, although pricing up head and tripod is over £170 ... I think not! a budget all rounder would be better for now)

Many Thanks :)

I bought a Star 35 a while back, only cost under 20 quid and came with a bag and folds faster than a poker player. Not too bad for a beginners unit.
