Just getting round to processing another one, taken just after a heavy rain shower late on night.  I've got some other ones of water droplets on some plants but can't quite find one I'm completly happy with yet.

And another one from the same night, heavily cropped though as there were some other distracting buds in the background.

I've been growing a sensitive plant (Mimosa pudica) for a while now and its finally flowered last night so thought I'd grab some macro shots of the flower.  Wasn't quite light enough and my shutter speed was below 1/100th so I tried using my flash on a tripod to the right of the flower and that made life a tad easier!  Did help quite nicely with the background as well as the flower was right in front of a window.

I like all the last 3 macro shots, the backgrounds are nice too, although I think the last one would have been a bit better if it was black across the whole background, the bit on the left detracts from the photo a little.

I'm on the hunt for some bargains macro lenses ATM  :ptu:

That's annoying, I thought I'd got rid of all of that bit at the left hand side, I'll have another go at editing it later on shouldn't be too difficult.

They're great fun, have you checked CEX, I got mine from there and they do seem to have quite a bit of canon stuff at the mo.

It's no biggie mate, it's still a great pic as it is..

No I haven't tried CEX, might pop down at the weekend and see if they have anything, cheers!

Have a look on their website, its quite good for live stock in all their stores and lets you order from any non-franchise stores.

I'd been out most of the day with my camera at a local farmers market and hadn't taken anything but then on the way home we called into a farm shop (Brockbushes just outside Hexham for those locals) and they have a pond.  A few years ago I was there and there was loads of dragonflys, this year there didn't appear to be any until I saw this one hiding on the wall of the pond.  Bit awkward to get at as the lip of the pond kept on getting in the way and it was a bit dark but I just cranked up the ISO on my D7000 which is rather good for this sort of thing, anyway here's 3 pics I was happy with.

Indeed, before long all the lovely little critters will be disappearing for the Winter.

Though that being said, I've found the 100mm macro to be so versatile it still has loads of other uses other than insect macro photography :D
