Nice, you'll have to hurry up and get some stuff up on here.

It turns up tomorrow, I expect it will be the weekend before I take a picture (not of my hands/eyeball/kitchen tap dripping - that'll be tomorrow  :ptu:)

Jumping Spider by russellcram, on Flickr

Found this little fella running around a plant pot at home, been keeping an eye out for a jumping spider for a while quite glad that its in my yard just as long as I can find it again.

Why thank you, been after one of these little critters for ages so quite happy that I've managed to get one at last and since its just at the end of my yard I'll be able to keep an eye out for him a bit more.

The D7000 does help quite a bit with macros, so easy just to set a min shutter speed and let the auto iso get you there, that was taken at iso 1250 and there's no sign of noise.

Ok longish post from me, with more to come as well.

Just got back (well last week anyway) from a weeks holiday in Jersey, so some general holiday type photos but also a load from Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust aka Jersey Zoo.

They've been uploaded to flickr about 90 mins and not in any groups till about 5 minutes ago and I've already had 45 views!

That's it for now I've got more to edit at some point though.

And here's another one, this time a 30 second long exposure out over Bouley Bay, where we were staying.  Love how little street lights there were around there, I think there was only the ones on the pier and that was it must have saw more stars there then I've seen before.

Elizabeth Castle Canon by russellcram, on Flickr

Managed to get round to editing some more of the photos from my holiday to Jersey so here's another.  Went for a walk around Elizabeth Castle and there was a demonstration on musket firing and canon firing, managed to grab this, wouldn't say its a brilliant capture photographically but its still a bit of fun.

Got a couple of panorama's I might be able to get up before long, at least a 14 and a 15 picture one, aren't I gald for Microsoft ICE!

And here's one of the panorama's, not completely happy with the edit especially with the top left, the clouds are slightly blown out so may redo it in the future.

On a side note I hate mornings like these, coming to work the colours from the sunrise were lovely and the skies sort of opposite the sunrise were dark grey, they'd be great for a bit atmospheric photography but I didn't have my camera with me and couldn't stop anyway as I was on my way to work which sucks :(

Indeed.

Regarding the panorama, this is kind of weird. People reckon that everyone in your dreams are people you've met before, or seen, even if you don't remember them. I'm wondering if the same can apply to places.

When I was a kid I dreamed of being on the beach rockpooling and generally have a good time somewhere like the above. I was pretty sad when I woke up as I thought it was awesome but didn't exist. I'm guessing I might have embellished it a bit, but I remember a large flat expanse of sand with rocks scattered around, and up one end a larger cluster of rocks with a castle, but I was having fun around the rocks.

I'm now thinking that when we visited Jersey YEARS before, we must have been here, as this pretty much matches it bang on. Timeline wise I'm talking Aged 3 we visit Jersey, Age 10 I dream about it, age 26 I see a picture of it!

Its funny how things like this crop up every now and then, you were obviously a bit too young to remember lots of specific details but that must have stood out enough for you to remember it now, glad I put it up, wasn't going to as I thought it could have been better.

And here's the next pano, again not great, really overcooked the sun on the right hand side too early in the day tbh another hour or so and the sun would be below the level or the hills.

Could you do a pseduo-HDR jobby use the same RAW shot for the image on the right that's overblown, keep one the same as everything is ok apart from the sky, the other image adjust the contrast and brightness/exposure etc to bring it back to something similar to the other images. Then use a layer mask to merge the 2 exposures together, save the image and re-stitch the pano? Might be worth a shot?

That could be an idea, sort of did it with one of my older photos although that was created from 2 seperate images rather than just the one.  I want to try getting through a lot more of the photos I took when I was away first, don't think there's many I'll need to edit left, but once I've got through them I'll go back and give it a whirl.
