Difficult, I got my first tripod years back but I think I am only just at the gearfagottry stage 0.o

maybe so, but if you look closely at that scientifically prepared graphic youll see that the "damnit I suck" dip in photographer confidence is accompanied by a continued steady rise in actual picture quality!
