I mean really? We have all done something stupid in our lives where someone has found it funny, but it ends there and you move on.

But the 49-year-old, revealing her identity for the first time

I hope the court read this the same as I do, and say DISMISSED, NEXT.

If one could see her face and recognize her maybe as they put it on the tube but not in this case, hope she loose her court case.

Exactly, no embarrasment, to then go to the national papers... well that's just plain boneheaded.

I agree with the commenter that said she's after a meal ticket for her and unemployed hubby. What a tool, move on. I've walked into a lamppost before (it's bloody painful) but I just shook myself down and got on feeling a bit embarassed, you don't drag the media into it so the world can see what an idiot you've been.

Quixoticish

I'm incredibly annoyed with the compensation and blame culture that seems to be getting worse every year in modern society. All it does is highlight people's greed and stops people who deserve the money and have a genuine right to make a claim from receiving what they deserve.

I'm sick and tired of people claiming for things that are downright ludicrous or completely false. They are scum and I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire.

So have I, and can confirm that it is indeed bloody painful. I think my ego got a bigger bruise than my head though, especially since as I recall I was trying to demonstrate that I couldn't be that drunk because I could walk backwards in a perfectly controlled manor at the time. Whack - straight into a road sign. Actually I wish someone HAD been filming it, would have been worth £250 for sure!

har har de har. What a tit. Hope she get's contempt of court or w/e for wasting peoples time.

Smugs

If there is any sense left in this world the Judge will kick this case straight out of court.

Trying to get compo because of your own monumental fail just boils my blood and if she actually goes on to win this case, I think I'll explode.

Serious

I don't have an issue with the security video, however, it's purpose isn't shoving video onto TV. If the picture is at all identifiable as the woman she's got a reasonable case to sue.

Secondly, while she's obviously not looking where she's going there isn't enough hight to the barrier around the water, that makes it potentially dangerous. They need to put a proper rail around capable of preventing people falling in.

Thats ridiculous. There are fountains all over the world in the street and in shopping centres and holiday resorts that have a low wall like the one shown, but one woman falling into one and you are proposing that they must have barriers now.

Oh, come on....  ::)  Should Councils put barriers on the edge of every inch of pavement in the UK so that people don't wander into the road while reading?  Her claim is ridiculous.

I'd also like to point out that 2 people in the last 3 days have stepped out in front of me on the road while walking and texting, one was on a busy main road, and the other was at a junction, the issue these days lies in the fact that people do not know when its right to be glued to your mobile and when not, personal safety when crossing roads is far more important, but some people just don't seem to understand the dangers of crossing a road without looking.
