hmmm..

   Open top.
  The 2nd gear drop.
  Everyone looks at it.
 Handling, although its a little hairy at times.
 It fits like a glove, everything is where it should be...

 ...Except for the pedals (too far to the right), and the indicator stalk is on the wrong side..
 The brakes dont seem too good, even though theyre pretty much new & have braided lines.
 Not nearly enough traction, this is probably just the tires though.
 I dont like the amount of travel in the clutch pedal, i.e. from top to floor.

Mechanically, I think theres a slight blow in the exhaust system, one of the pulleys is a little loose, the aircon needs recharged, and also Im not convinced by the wheel bearings, but its going in for a major service soon.

I like it, but I need time to get used to it  - I was constantly checking my side mirrors cos the car is lot wider than Im used to. Im actually slower in the 5 than I was in the bog cooper.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

nooo, the indicators are on the correct side.

While coming up to that roundabout, you can be putting the clutch in with the left foot, braking with the right, changing the gear with the left hand and then flicking the indicators in whatever direction & making whatever minor steering adjustments you want.

get some decent tyres on there for the traction issues.. and anyway, once you get a few airfield days in - youll love being able to break traction in a safe environment, slidey slidey!

long clutch-travel sucks though, I find it hard to believe an MX-5 would have even a single control that is long-throw :o thats not very sporty!

Pete

Its not that bad tbh, I did 250miles yesterday so Im more used to it now.

Id normally whack the indicator down as I go to change gear cos you can keep your right-hand on the wheel.

Deaths Head

I just sorted my insurance via confused.com  Its saved me Ã,£100 + Ã,£150 on the excess. :)  Swinton and Insurance4you were the two offering that deal, since I know Swinton I went with them.  Little did I know they are also a broker like Confused.com and they were merely advertising Insurance4you :)  I bought it Monday evening and all my paperwork has arrived today.  When you buy it you do get the option of printing out your documentation there and then.  Since I have a laser printer I can use it.  I doubt you would be able to if you had an inkjet printer.  I also had to get my Tax.  And pay off Ã,£1K on my Credit Card.  I am skint until payday next month :(

My car is currently at the garage, and I have a Hyundai Getz to drive around in.  It has to be the worst car I have ever driven.  And it stinks!
