17k in a year is nothing really, especially on a jap car

Jaimz

He did say that now they reckon the avg is 12.5k miles a year, and the car is really 18 months old so it does work out as "average". The car drove absolutely fine though, shame about the driver being worried about trashing it when he didnt own it!

Sorry, nah I just thought extra £150 aint nothing if you look at in terms of monthly payments. Should never pay the screen price of a car.

well, £250 if you count the roof rack. I know its a bit steep but at the same time I figured the chances of finding another TS2 in the area that new were remote. Ive spent the last month looking every other day almost and theres been a total of 3 I think! Monthly payment wise it works out as one less monthly payment.

At the end of the day I can afford it and its still cheaper than getting a new Mazda 3 TS2 by a fair bit!

I briefly thought about it, but tbh if I needed something like that Id get whoever was employing me to provide it! I dont really like big cars (I drive a micra!) so a Mazda 3 is 1 step up for me.

HPI check was fine. Ended up getting them to throw in a free service and a roof rack, and add an extra £150 to the value of the micra, its not much but it was enough to get me to sign. Pick it up on Sat. Car is spotless with the exception of a small stone chip on the front, which they will sort out. The boot looks unused and has no scuff marks.

Now Im just paranoid when it comes to hand my car over they will find craploads wrong with it. The only things are minor - Spare keys buttons could do with replacing, radio LCD is going, and just a few dints and things that he saw. Hes not seen the key or the radio though...

Unless its a used car dealer they will probably ship the car straight to auction anyway, or they have someone buying stock regularly from them, so i wouldnt worry so much.

:stupid:

Even a used car dealer wont care about such a cheap car - especially when part exd against an expensive one.

When I part exd my Rover for the Punto they never even looked at it (that was a 2nd hand dealer). We removed the tax disk, stereo and my mate even had the floor mats out! Dont worry about it.
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

Cheers guys.

Something else I figured today is the fact that had I not noticed the small stone chip next to the number plate, they probably wouldnt have sorted it out, so I guess it works both ways, its up to them to check everything works, though I dont think I can make my self feel 100% guilt free as he did ask "everything else works ok?"...it does work ok, just not quite perfectly ><

Provided the trade goes ok on Sat I dont think I did too badly, as I got what I had expected to get for my car+ a little more, and now Ive thought about it, in a private sale I am guessing the potential buyer would try and knock the price below what I got on the grounds of the radio, spare key, etc.

At least theyre getting the phone holder as I CBA trying to unstick it from the dash ><

the thing to remember is, the car is worth exactly how much you are/were willing to pay for it....

I remember a couple of years back going to buy a van i found in the auto trader and recognising the seller of it as a customer at work... bought it off him and a week later he came into the factory gloating to the guys working for me saying hed have knocked another 200 of if Id bargained a bit harder... kinda took the wind out of his sails when I told him I needed a van that day no matter what, Id have paid an extra grand if hed bargained a bit harder !

I preferred the story about your dad running the van over the guys car with no insurance  :mutley:

lol, yeah, my dads really easy going... but its a good idea not to piss him off !

a few months after i bought the van above, the guy renting the unit next door parked in our parking space and when my dad asked him to move the guy told him to shove it.... so my dad chained it to the back of the van and dragged it down the street !

I just realised.... my dads done all kinds of crazy crap... but moans at me if I so much as look at someone the wrong way !

Well the car is ace bar a few little niggles, one being sorted tomorrow (hopefully) and the other, will have to wait and see.

Main one was driving away from the dealership I noticed 2 chips in the windshield right in front of the drivers side. Then noticed that are are actually several other smaller ones in the middle and passenger side. How I missed it in the test drive I dunno, could be because of the rain! However the dealership has given me a card of the guy who does their windshield stuff and have said to him to bill them for any repairs, so not too fussed so long as it gets sorted.

With hindsight I should/could have gotten a new 3 TS2 for £3k more on 0% finance, in 3 years time when the PCP ends I might upgrade to a new model, presuming the car is still in equity.

EDIT:
1 niggle was me being a numpty and not realising the seats have pressure sensors.
