Saying I didnt get any sleep at all last night and im running on semi-caffine ermm it woke me up rather nicely :D

volts cant harm  ;)

M3ta7h3ad

Its the amps that kill.

<<< has had 11kV through him. :D

Oh and there is enough ampage in that battery to kill you :) so BE CAREFUL!!!

300Amps on start is the norm. IIRC.

Binary Shadow

yeah car batterys are shocking ;)

450amps cold crank power!!!!

DEViANCE

i have bridged the pins on a alternator when taking off an oil filter before that wasnt fun, and i have had afew 240v mains belts before, wakes you up to say the least.

brummie

so much so you had to tell us twice  :D

DEViANCE

lol how did that happen!? my internet has been being gay all weekend.

tbh Ive only ever had a shock from a ciggaret lighter in a car.... and I do everything but stick the cables in my mouth :o

oftern wondered why sometimes it shocks, and others not :dunno:

I guessed it could be something to do with the distance between the 2 points of contact on your skin for the +ve and -ve, but then theres plenty of times ive had big hefty cables in the same hand.

anyone know ?

Binary Shadow

the resistance is really high on your body.. just dont sweat cos that reduces it massivly and will allow you to be shocked easily

Christopher Monkey

Just disconnect the +ve terminal before you do any work!! Just remember your stereo codes!!

Chris

the resistance of your body is usually pretty high, as a rule of thumb 12v wont usually shock you...

u *usually* need 28v + to get a shock, but having wet hands or something will reduce the resistance of your body a lot.

GIRL ! (and thats putting it politly :p )

start working with a nice few 3 phase cabl;es as thick as your arm at 415v live and you soon get the hang of it ;)

That is what you can get for a whole hour, u could get 480 amp for 15 minitues from that battery

Madrocker

aha.

I have never been belted by a battery befor.
Even licking your fingers and touching both terminals dont do anythin.

I always get shocked by the ht leads though, and the rev counter feed.
