Title: Brakes
Post by: mr_roll on July 01, 2006, 20:48:13 PM
For my 106 Rallye

How much would you pay for the 4 pads and 2 front solid front discs?

I just need to have my mind set at ease.

not much, probably.

the 106 is a lightweight car, and wont need 300mm vented slotted grooved discs or anything special

My Mazda MX-3 was Ã,£300 inc VAT, Labour etc for 4* discs, and 4* pads.. so quite a bit, but the pads were around Ã,£50ish each at the front :O

and Mazda parts prices are astronomical anyway, so yours will be closer to what Binary Shadow has posted id imagine!

Binary Shadows prices sound about right to me for a small car of that age...

but then again it is a limited edition, so maybe a bit more ?

really depends on how many other cars use the same disks/pads :)

Damn, I had my mx3 fronts done for much less. Street pricing on a front and rear Brembo rotors and organic pads is Ã,£80, and perhaps Ã,£120ish if you want ceramic. No labor, but its not hard to do yourself.

couldnt be bothered :P

I forgot to mention I had new fluid too....

It felt great i must say, (the pedal was so firm, and had great feedback)  for about a week and a half - Then I did an airfield day (~150 miles there) and turned it all back into sponge and brake fade..

ho hum   havent done anything silly like that in the Yaris .....yet.

Have been researching into:

Theyre the same as the ZX, 309, 306, 205.

Ã,£10 at my local factors - eurocar ripoff and german scam and french probably 12-15 quid

Pads are the same as all the aforementioned and are about Ã,£15 - Ã,£30 depending on what you get - I recommend boggo standard pads.

Youd have saved a fortune if youd got the calipers discs and pads from higher spec 306s/ZXs/Xsara etc

Branded ones? Always try Andrew Paiges or Part Co., Im always getting my expensive parts very cheap from Andrew Paiges, always worth asking for a lower price, I just automatically get traders prices now :)

No no, theyre vented like. Not drilled or anything.

Anyway got some for Ã,£37 from NPA in Sunderland.

Roto-sommit discs and Ferodo Pads

Andrew Page gave me a price of Ã,£46

The discs and pads are quite new, but theyre warped.

^^ doh !

I get a kick ass discount at NPA !

the used to be called autella and there sunderland base was next door to me at work !  they changed the name and moved, but I still know all the guys there :o

its handy when you need something, but your not sure which of the 5 different versions it is... they just hand all 5 over and dont bill me till i take the 4 left overs back :)
