Thinking of getting one of these - any thoughts on them ?

Looks nice, I wouldnt mind one either. If its anything like my mazda it should be well built and reliable.

Are they available for test drive?

Review in Evo this month. Says, basically, its fast, good, well built, should be reliable, but is a little sterile. For something so nippy its a little boring and you should get an orange Focus ST instead.

I think Id rather have this - because it isnt a focus!

It has the legs on the focus by the looks of it, and Ill treat it to a little fettling

Mazdas are great. The build quality walks all over Ford (the Mexican made Focuses at least), the engines run forever, and the interiors are very nice quality.

Ford can be better for taller drivers.

Look at the new leon cupra mate, 237hp, Ã,£19,500k. more features than the golf gti!

More power in the mazda - thats whats swinging me toward it - wouldnt buy a seat or a VW as a matter of principle - not because of the actual cars, but because of my own prejudice toward those overhyped diesels that they build.
