I wish there was some kind of reminder that your MOT certificate is going to run out.  I only remembered becuase Im taking a break over the weekend and I happend to think about.

You get a reminder for your insurance and tax, I find it slightly odd there is no reminder for the Mot. All I could remember was september.  Its supposed to be something like 1 in 6 on the road without one.  A good majority of those driving on the road are those who genuinely just forogot about it.

It expires tommorow, got it booked in for wednesday. There shouldnt be anything wrong with, have not noticed anything change over the last year and at the most done a good couple of thousand miles on it iirc.  Though had I had a reminder of sorts I wouldnt be worrying and messing around last minute with it.  :|

I agree, tax and insurance gives you enough to think about when they are up for renewal at different times. Its a PITA.

I think they put the date on that little sticker they give you and then put the sticker right in the corner of your windscreen.

Mark

We have MOT discs over here that you put up just like a tax disc - that serves as a decent reminder.

I think they have also started to send out reminders

They do, but Im sure most people dont remember to check those all the time.

Chuck Norris

Instead of getting the new micra to wish you a happy birthday, why dont they get it to do something more useful, like let you know when your MOT is due.

Mark

And then a system to tell you whats wrong with it once its passed the mot

Chuck Norris

^^ lol, be about right now nissan is part of renault.

Mark

If it wasnt for Renault there would be no Nissan right about now - they turned it around.

Chuck Norris

Now look at the reliability index before and after renault had anything to do with them.  They have even started making the same cars, like the Nissan modus, renault note.

Failed on Front Brakes (I knew they needed replacing anyway),  back drum brakes needed calibrating, the overall performance was not right.  It also failed on the emmisions.  Turns out to be the Map & Oxygen Sensors.

Considering the problems my engine gives I am not all that surpised, it stalls randomsly when coming to a stop, it cant idle properly, you get throttle jumps every so often.  I think Ive just gotten used to it.

Along with the cost of the minor service Its a pain, but it needs doing at the end of the day.  I was only expecting it to fail on front brakes.  :(

If I knew my MOT was coming up I could have had it done earlier and perhaps looked at sorting some of the problems out myself.  But it needs sorting now for work and shizzle.

Whoever said once you own a car youll never be rich again wasnt kidding.

Stick it in the outlook calendar at the office, like the rest of my life :D
"Within your 'purview'? Where do you think you are, some f**king regency costume drama? This is a government department, not some f**king Jane f**king Austen novel!"

If you need a new lambda sensor that might get expensive !

DEViANCE

just looked on the xpart webby, an OE lambda sensor for a 1.6 mk1 megane is Ã,£70 and Ã,£55 for a univ one.

just guessed the engine cypher might have, but i cant see there being much diff between them.

Cypher

I did indeed need a new lambda sensor, and it did get expensive, dont ask.  Its indeed a Mark 1 1.6 e RT Megane btw.

I can at least look on the bright side and say Ive got a working reliable car for 12 months.  If I keep it for a third year that is.  Will have had it 2 in march.
