i dont spose anyone here has access to a Bosch catalogue? need to work out the differnce between parts 0470506002 and 0470506006

gone for a 2nd hand unit from ebay, probably not the wisest thing to do but its allegedly only done 42k miles and is in excellent condition, i will be the judge of that tho

the 02 more common in vw with same engine as in audi I belive.

bugger, hope that an 06 will work in place of an 02, bet it probably wont now

one of those engines came in a year before the other, I cant remember which though. you might get away with it alright. Sometimes changing pumps its only a matter of changing a few things to make it suit.

will have to fit it and see, will probably get a mass of fault codes and non running tho.. its my luck

Try google to see if u can find the differences betwix AKN
and the AFB engines (can even be in your manual).

iv looked in the handbook (dont have a proper service manual as the damn haynes doesnt cover the V6 at all)

Been googling and found nothing, the V6s werent shipped to the states so theres little noise about them, been posting on VW/Audi forums for more info, hopefully itll turn some up.

my handbook tells enginecodes it is also in your boot on a white sticker near the sparewheel.

or just call VAG

got the new injector pump on, been cranking it over for ages trying to get the fuel to prime, now theres a massive puddle of what looks like oil under the car, this could be terminal

OH NO !  

sounds strange, how can an injector pump kill an engine? where is the oil coming from?

have you checked operation of the in tank pump, that failing is usually what causes the main pump to frazzle.

appears to be the in tank pump as mentioned above, getting no fuel to the front of the car.

also looks like i was mistaken, its a puddle of coolent oil and diesel mixed, not just oil
