Ive got the option to buy a pimp-ass Recaro seat to replace the damaged standard drivers seat. Its got electric bits, heated and inflatable lumbar support!
Not bad for £20.

But its got no rails! How can I cheaply and safely get it fitted to my car?

Binary Shadow

cheap + safe = not possible lol

Mark

Youre gonna need the correct subframe fella.

maximusotter

Sounds like a job for JB Weld!

Poison_UK

Ive mounted peoples bucket seats without the correct subframe before, just bolted down two straight points of metal then mounted them on there. They passed an MoT (tho what does a MoT really say in this country)

I thought the over-riding motivation for safety was to prolong life, rather than get it through an MOT

I have to agree, I wasnt keen on replaceing my knackered seatbelt buckle myself amidst safety concerns, bolting down a seat that could help save your life in a crash isnt something to take lightly.

Vini

Have a few people overlooked the fact this is a Seicento?

redneck

get a few bits of metal and a hammer.

i thought you were a man soopah.

knighty

cant you bolt it to the frame of the old seat ?

mr_roll

Ebay for the subframes?

Or buy them and hope they come up on ebay or from a local source? or national source.

Pete

Some box section and a bit o welding would do.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.
