Nah, I had all the Turbo pipes on the Audi replaced and had it checked over at a specialist garage and even then it still only pulled about as well as this. Unless the 325tds was seriously underpowered then this must have had something done to it I reckon, as it is not the hideously slow 1.2L Corsa's whipping-boy that they seem to say everywhere else about the SDI.

Either way, I'm happy and running on veg oil again  :ptu:

The 0-60 time for the Octavia is supposed to be 19 secs. The BMW pulled ok, but im shocked that you think the Audi TDI didn't, even the 1.6 petrol A4 pulls well.

Absolutely no way for this one at least, halve that figure.

no way the octavia is 19 sec 0-60... maybe someone's fiddled with the pump etc... but you can;t really push them very far without a turbo - pretty soon you mess up the fuel/air ratio and the extra fuel stops making any difference....

the nice thing about the bmw was the torq from the straight six.... 20mph to 80mph in 3rd pulling hard all the way :-)

Mongoose

68BHP is what my 1.4 8v Fabia has. It's not catastrophic but it's hardly fast, the same power in an Octavia would be painful. Something fishy going on with that Octavia of yours Nige!

I'm not complaining, whatever it is it can stay!  :w00t:

We'll know how well it runs if I get back tonight, I'm leaving Sunderland imminently - 5 hour journey :ptu:

Pfft, we did it in 3 1/2 hours and i single handedly held Knighty's gearbox in place for the whole journey!

I got home no sweat. It eats motorway miles nicely although does lose a bit of grunt going uphill, that's to be expected though, I can't expect the same pull as the 325. Also got back on 3/4 of a tank, very impressed with that (I wasn't taking it particularly slow either).

In order to do it in 3 1/2 hours you'd have to average 100 mph

I told you, you were a posh git, i'd pay £25 for that and get 10% discount at my local Hand Car Wash! They might not use big words to explain their services though! :P

I reckon next time you will be using this bloke!
