That is one stroke of really bad luck !!!!!!

Poison_UK

That made me feel so sorry for that guy, one of the rarest Evos along with two stunning cars.

Leon

That is really sh*tty :(

QuoteJust all of my cars mate, they went to rob the Evo, and when they couldnt get it, they set fire to it, which burnt the 205 gti beside it and when the handbrake cable snapped on the evo, it rolled into the Audi, destroying it

The worst of it is you know they will never catch the scum responsible, or theyll get a totally unfit punishment if they are caught.

Rivkid

Understand how gutted he must be and its a really terrible thing to have happened. However I think the reaction from some others is a bit OTT. "Sorry for your loss" etc... - theyre just cars at the end of the day at least his loved ones werent in them at the time.
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

I would say they WERE his loved ones.

Just one more reason you should park in gear - so your flaming Evo doesnt roll into your RS4 Avant and torch it too.

Did you see later in the thread he was helping load the cars to be transported away and snapped the tendons in his hand  :?
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo... Again.

Who would park the rarest Evo, an RS4 and 205 outside a block of flats anyway? I know a local lad that owns an Evo, he rents a garage near to his home cus he
doesnt have a garage with the property he rents.

And like someone pointed out already they are just cars, if you cared that much about them then park them in a garage. I drive a Mondeo and couldnt give 2 sh*ts if it was destroyed, thats what insurance is for.

Not everyone has access to garages or garages nearby to make them practical - you shouldnt have to live in fear of your personal possessions being stolen/torched, especially enough to have to fork out extra for a garage! :disappointed:

Bacon

Well i was just trying to be practical, i for one wouldnt drive a rare car if i lived in a block of flats in an area where there was a chance this could happen.

Its not practical for anyone to have to rent a garage from someone else to store some cars because you dont have your own garage, but practicality kind of goes out the window when you decide to spend so much on cars, unless of course you live in some secluded residential area with a low crime rate.

Then I pity him I really do. Im sure his cars are very important to him - as are my guitars to me. Im not blind to the concept and Im not saying he shouldnt be absolutely gutted. But if I lost all my guitars in a house fire tommorrow I wouldnt care as long as my family got out. Just think some perspective is needed.

your family werent in the fire and you got out successfully. tell me in all honesty that you wouldnt be destraught and ill show you a liar.

its not til it happens to you that you know what sort of emotions you go through. if you havent been through it, dont call names.

Matt - youve totally taken what Ive said the wrong way mate.

I never said I wouldnt be gutted. In fact I said I would be gutted. I said the way the OTHER people on the forums were acting was OTT - it was how Id expect a thread to look if his mum had died seriously!!

That said I still think your wrong to a point - I honestly wouldnt give a sh*t about possessions as long as family are safe. Im not a liar - thats just how I was brought up - to believe whole heartedly that material things dont matter at the end of the day. Im not saying I wouldnt be gutted of course I would be - but once Im over the shock (which I agree you cant guess how it will affect you) give me 5 minutes and Id be smiling and laughing and damn grateful to be alive. Im sure people who know me in real life would back me up on that - Dooms?

I didnt call anyone names either??

alright, call names was the wrong way to put it. but you know what i was trying to say.

the guy is devastated. personally i partly agree with you, my pride and joy lived in a garage. didnt stop this http://dubforce.net/gina and i was devastated like a family member had died. in the same way as you probably cram overtime in to buy a guitar, id spent 2 years in the garage.

sop times that by 3 for a car thats one of 4, a car thats a serioulsy expensive motor and something youve owned for 15 years and you amounto to feelings i still dont think youre qualified to talk about unless youve been there.
