Hes picked up his new passat estate (he likes big boots ^^ ) today, really really nice inside and out.

LCD lights are strange, and hes a bit unsure about the park button, but loved the ride, cruise control etc.

My view is that its really nice, has enough storage to hold everything, lol even  has a brolly holder withen the driver side door.

Reverse is strange, you have to push down then into R but the acc pedal is nice, very big and good for long drives.

I was worried about the colour as he didnt tell me what he chose, lol, but i think its a good choice.

The reverse on my 97 golf is the same.

Looks like a nice motor anyway :)

The Passat and Jetta estate or as we call them, "wagons", are just great do-everything cars. My only complaint, other than a couple typical VW electrical niggles, is the consistent piss-poor economy of the gasoline versions. They *do* feel very torquey for their size, which almost makes up for it.

Beaker

beautiful motorway cruisers TBH, and they have plenty of pull at low revs.  Mostly where I used to work had the 2.0TD though the perol versions where still pretty good cars. The Bottom hinged Accelerator pedal does take a bit of getting used to if you havent used one previously though

tbh I think the new Passat is eye candy.  It looks like it was made from a solid block of steel and carved out.

Despite the slogan ".....youll want to keep it that way" of the last add campaign I was never keen on the last passat.

See I have mixed views, some of the new BMWs look sweet, where as some are just boring.

The 3 convertible is a nice car, but it lacks imagination on the base model, its simply a boring car.

I bet its silver too?

It is really nice, a big step up from the old model.

It was really funny watching my mum try and pull away, with the park on, if you build up the rev and pull away it flips off, clever, means you your not pushing the button all the time, but she couldnt do it, lol. No clue why my dad can doe it with ease.
