The passenger door on my mini will not unlock. Central locking wont do it, using the key wont do it, using the inside handle wont do it.

Ive managed to get the top half of the interior panel off and my arm is squished like hell but I can feel the part of the lock mechanism that moves when you pull the handle. I checked the drivers side and when you push down on it the door just opens.

Push down on the passenger side and nothing happens.

I checked the fuse and since I did that the central locking no longer works :/

any ideas on how to open the passenger door?
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

what year is it?

Id say its deadlocked and the locking motor has failed which is a serious problem as youll not easily get it open

^^^ what he said

have you tried pressing lock on the rmote a dozen times and then trying to open it ?

sounds dumb... but Ive goten in like that before... after that you want to squirt it with WD40 and open/lock/dead lock - repeat for 10 min to free it off !

otherwise, its dead and itll be a basterd.... - if it is bugered, see if you can reach in, follow the wires to the motor... and then disconect it - you wont be able to see how its held on, so youll just have to ripp it off.... that might get it open....

once its open you can get a new motor and replace it :-)

How long did we spend on taking out that central locking thing on my car? god that was a pain.

I had a similar problem, the rear door wouldnt unlock. We found out it was the central locking unit that was just knackered.
