I find it funny that it appears to be screen mirroring and iPhone in the ad, but requires android to do screen mirroring!? However if you do get a chance to link up an iPhone let me know how well it works or if it just limits it to the point of being useless :-)

My gf tried hooking up her iPhone via Bluetooth to play music and it was having none of it, it should work via USB though.

Hey mate, interested to know how you are getting on with this? Any luck getting anything working with the iPhone as well?

Clock'd 0Ne

Yeah its been working very well lately, though the wifi seems to drop out when I try and connect to my home wifi, using my phone as a hotspot works absolutely fine. Bluetooth with the iPhone is working too, it even cuts the music volume while the satnav is talking too so i'm definitely happy with it.

Wifi is probably because the antenna is hidden in a metal box behind the dash.. And I assume you are talking about wifi calling rather than a2dp, although I assume that would also be possible. Have you thought of picking up an ODBII Bluetooth adapter and getting your engine stats up on the unit?

Clock'd 0Ne

No i was just talking about wifi in general, for Google maps, updates, etc. I literally couldn't care less about the engine stats too, the car isn't worth fussing over

Lol, you can get the ODB adapter for about a tenner, just a nerdy thing to have really :-)

Pays for itself, the first time you get an engine management light.
Although, if it's a Volkswagen, that's how you know it's working :D

Agreed! I had a warning message on me car.
Dealership wanted £90 to put it on the computer, Halfords £40
Aliexpress sold them with the dodgy software for £30
got my diags codes, googled the error's - replaced £20 fuel filter myself.
Still got errors.
Got adventurous with software & cleared out the errors.
No more problems.

This car is peeing me off enough that it's likely going to get sold in the new year - it's not starting properly and the constant power on/off cycles seems to have made the HU go funny as it keeps throwing up errors and will like need to go back to the manufacturer from the looks of it. I really want to go Japanese again, so much more reliable.

You can get Civic's/Accords for not much cash these days

So what was the 'final verdict' as it were? I'm looking to get a new headunit for the 2 as mine is frankly laughable and am considering options

It would be up against something like this http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-jvc-kw-v11_p-32906.htm whilst that doesn't have the bells and whistles tbh my main use is putting an mp3 stick into it with a load of music on.

If you use satnav heavily on google maps already and have a solid wifi connection or cheap tariff to tether to as a wifi hotspot on your phone its awesome, if not I don't think its worth it unless you really want to browse the internet on your head unit. As the unit is Android 4 not 5 and Google did a massive Google Play update at some point it sometimes cries at me about some piece of software on there using an invalid Google Login. If I could fit mine into my Mazda 6 I would but as I can't I'm either going to try to retrofit one of the OEM units or ad hoc engineer some kind of top dash cubby mount for my phone, maybe using a wireless charger.
