Ive just had a nasty puncture on my rear left tyre.  Fortunately they were near needing replacing anyway.

Ive currently got 2 brand new GS-D£s on the front and sh*tty Yokos on the back.  I would have another set on GS-D3s, but they are out of stock/temporarily discontinued.

The alternatives are Goodyear Optigrip or F1 Symetric

The garage has been trying to push a brand called Prestivo which they swear by, about £50 a tyre.  Some people I have spoke to have said a Tyre is a tyre that I will never notice the difference.  Well I certainly noticed the wet capabilities of the GS-D3.

My question is What would you do?  Do you think one tyre is the same am I wasiting money on a brand name, would you put a budget brand on the back and keep good ones on the front?

Help lol.

Anyone that thinks a tyre is a tyre is a complete tard. Think about it thetyre is the only part of the whole car keeping it in contact with the road, so Id go for the highest rated (plenty of review / comparison sites online) that you can afford.

I thought as much, it was just the way people were saying "you wont notice a difference unless your a racing driver".

There is a car dealership in the same office block as me.  I was thinking is that the case or do you really not know anything about a feel for the road.

The F1 asymetrics are supposed to be the replacements for the GS-D3s by the sound of it.

Ill probably go for them, then there is the question of what to put what to put on the front with different tread patterns.

Id get some GS-D3s off the net....and match them to be honest.

Cypher

No stock they are discontinued.

I think what Ill have to do is put an alternative goodyear pair on the back and Il keep the GS-D3s on the front.  I havent read many reviews on these Asymetricals even though they are supposed to be better.

Serious

If you are an average sunday driver chances are you wont notice, otherwise go for something a bit more expensive.

There is the chance that the cheap tyres will be near enough the same performance though. Then again you might win the lottery too.

chrisdicko

Get them off the net Cypher......

Then take them to be fitted. There are a few places which sell them. Like mytyres.co.uk etc

Cheap tyres are a fallacy of brain and wallet. Poor performance and usually quicker wear compared to better tyres is often your reward. Good tyres arnt just for racecars.
