Rowing.

And also cycling, and a bit of fencing now and again.  But mainly rowing.

Bunch of stuff really. Position can be completely crap. Tiredness or pain can result in a slouch... in which each target you shoot at youll just get lower and lower.

Poor sight picture, taking too long to take the shot (you will make your eyes see what you want to see), cheek pressure on the buttplate.

Contrary to popular belief, wind has a huge effect on .22 rounds at 100 and 50yds. 100 yds outdoors is a right arse at appleton, they have an enclosed range, but it means the wind does odd things, like vortexes and things. If ever you see people shooting, youll see wind flags, and notice that everyone fires in salvos :) the wind will die... everyone will shoot at the same time.

Rifle shooting is fairly accessible have a look at the NSRA website and find a local club :) they will all have club equipment so you can use that :) I love it to bits, buying my first rifle in a few weeks.

Clay pigeon is fun, but its easy... when youve tracked one clay. youve tracked all of em :D lol. Some of the ones Ive seen at bisley are a bit mad, so fast I couldnt see them until I got used to the speed.

Rifle shooting though, like the old saying goes, easy to learn, bloody difficult to master :)

wow this has generated more interest than I thought it would, cool to see such a variety of things going on!

Glad to see Im not the only shooter too. I remember the first time I shot at Uni, "I havent shot target rifle in a while" says I "so treat me like a beginner". I promptly shot a 96. Currently Im trying to get my head back into pistol shooting after 9 years. My spangly new CO2 pistol is sitting in its box at my parents place waiting for me to sight it in this weekend, Im really looking forward to that!
