I think Id rather burgle Nick Masons garage personally :P

Pete

Jay Kays for me :)

My mums got one of those foldy bikes, not as old/rare/expensive as that one may be tho.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

after the page loaded, and the pictures started appearing I typed in "carbon" ...firefox appeared with the search bar, and began hunting...  but no words matching "carbon" to be found.

Id not burgle that garage at all - boooooooooring.

Rather burgle one with something like this in it:

ride off on one of those...  art & science beautifully combined

:edit:

I love these, too - beautiful frame, its curvy but still traditionally shaped.

my anti-jonny_come_lately_cyclist radar pinged into action when you posted your comments, it scored a direct hit too...

i dont hate carbon, i dont hate anything i just dislike veloponces (tm) like the chinese kids with jazzy hair who ride round manchester on titanium litespeeds and carbon treks - theyve never raced nor ridden their bikes hard, they just cruise round lookin "pimp"...

That De Rosa is just hideous. Its a reminder of the Italian flair of being able to create the sublime with one hand, and the ghetto with the other. Plastic bikes might give you that slight edge when racing, not doubt about that, but for a personal ride, Id rather ride something made in the mountains of Italy by a compact moustachioed craftsman in a design thats been honed to perfection over a hundred years. Its a no brainer. For the same price as an entry level OCLV frame, I can fly to Boston, meet with Mike Flanigan, have him measure me up, get a custom frame made, and enough change left over for the opera and a hotdog.

I wouldnt buy a tango - Theres one in the local shop - its Ã,£3k  ridiculous stuff.

but if a garage door was left open and I had no morals - Ooohh yes ;) They look gorgeous - as does the Avant which is much cheaper - fantastically nice looking frame (although still far too expensive, its something like Ã,£1800 :o )

You can really appreciate the materials and build quality when you see one close up - I think thats partly what I like about this sort of bike.

Other than that though, yes they are somewhat pointless - a bike is only as fast as the riders legs at the end of the day.
