My renewal came today, another year NCB for a total of 9 years now, but as usual a £31 rise over last year.

Called them up, asked if they could do better, no they couldnt, asked them to cut to the chase, are you sure etc, ok cancel the policy.

Every year its the same, i dont agree with the renewal, i cancel the policy, then a week or two before my insurance is up, the same insurance company calls me back to offer something much more competitive.

I mean, whats the f**king point, i made a point of saying this to them this time cus tbh im sick to death of it, i told them lets skip me shopping around.

I can goto gocompare now and save £30 on last years price with a different company, but man im so sick of having to change every year.

Rant over.  :gag:

its once a year, can hardly see an issue, then again im young ish so time isnt flying past at warp speed, maybe when im older years will turn into weeks and itll be a hassle ;)

I relish the time when I come to hammer down last years disgusting premium. Ive also enjoyed that more often than not Adrian Flux was the best insurer and I could stick with them. Im with some no name at the moment, but come renewal time early next year Ill be expecting good things now Im 25

Also, Moneysupermarket is probably better to check first as well as Go Compare

Binary Shadow

your only just 25? thought you were older! i turned 25 this year so hoping my renewal will drop.

Beaker

Last year my renewal came thorough at over £600 for a W-Reg 1.8 Vectra!  Rang them up and told them Direct line could beat their price for Fully Comp, never mind the TPFT they had me on.  This was after the normal can you do it cheaper argument.  Ended up being a couple of quid more than Direct Line.  Knocked nearly £300 off their original quote!

Serious

Everyone has the same issue, the problem is a lot of peeps just pay up rather than complaining/shopping around.

Quixoticish

I think ours stayed pretty much constant going from 25 to 26, but we upped it from third party to fully comp, if we would have stuck with third party it would have dropped by a good £300 a year.

I turned 25 last week :D

Insurance unfortunately is due the month before ><

Had the same kind of hassle, quote came through, I thought it was a bit steep (wasnt expecting much of a drop as Id gone from a micra to the mazda), I think initial quote was like £425, with me named driver and the 2 rents on, and business class 2, as well as a few optional extras, with 6-7 years NCB I think now.

I had to take my father off as my mum had dented his car when she was driving it, but for some reason the claim had to go through his insurance, this means, even though he has no claims etc, that him being on the insurance whacked it up £50. Also took off the breakdown cover as mazda provides that for the next year. But even then, it came to about £350, and when I went through the process of doing the quote online it came to £275 or something. I hate it when companies treat existing customers like this by offering better prices for new people. So I basically phoned up, said I did a quote online, its xx cheaper than the renewal quote, Id like to have that price please, and they just asked for the quote number and that was it. Saved about £150 in total. Never, ever, had a problem with admiral.

This is usually what i have to do with this company, unfortunately this year they are no longer in the Top 10 results like they were for the last couple of times i have used the site, my guess is they were selling policies under the actual price in order to obtain customers and now the prices have been set back to normal values.

It is a hassle but i will shop around.

I just got a renewal though for £830 for a work van.... 5 min on cunfused.com to get the best quote, 5 min paying for it online, £580 all in, so £250 for 10mins work... not bad at all

Eagle

Mine seems to hold or even drop every year.  Currently £230 Fully comp, worldwide.  What the hell are you folk doing in your cars?

chrisdicko

Mine always goes down too! Mine is currently £750 but thats on a heavily modified Impreza running 432bhp, all mods declared.

But did you then go to the best quotes website and re-enter all the details again and discover its even cheaper than whatever comparison site you used said it was?

Ive found quite often theres a few notes less if you only use comparison sites to get the top few, and then do the other individidually to get the best 1...

Goblin

Mine went up this year, but I did go from a group 7 to a group 12 car. Still only around £350 though.
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo... Again.

Chris

Ive never paid more for insurance when its been time to renew, always gotten it for less.

I dont think Ive been with the same company on consecutive occaisions either, just shopped around to find the cheapest price and gone with that.
