Picked up bike from bike shop today, cage bearings replaced with nice new open bearings. Hit another 30mph again (verified by riding alongside my dad whilst he was driving back home :D lol), then promptly attempted to negotiate a right hand turn out of a side street onto a main road.

Side street was across from me (so it was more like a cross roads) with a queue of cars, wanting to turn across the front of me. My side of the road cleared first and only one car blocked my turn on the far side, so I pulled out to make the turn whilst signalling, and slowed to let the car pass.

As the car passed I made my turn, Mr fiesta decided he didnt like me going first, and decided to slowly edge out into the road. I swerve more and more to avoid him, before finally I find myself on his bonnet, still clipped into my bike.

Few choice words were said, and as I turned my head to get his registration details, he sped off.

My bike now has to go back to the damn shop cause its now wobbling dangerously so.

DAMMIT!

Did you get the reg? He needs a night in the clink to cool his jets.

M3ta7h3ad

nah, concentrated too much on yelling "f**k YOU!" at him, and getting off of the road with my wobbling bike so could check it over. All I got was M3 and thats it.

Damn White fiesta with learner plates, one occupant, and a registration of M3..... :( damn annoyed I didnt get it.

Report as much as you can to the police. Even if they dont catch this jerk, you get to be a statistic. Yay, statistic! :| Who knows, if you can provide a description they might find the guy. Hit and run, especially if youve possibly injured somebody is serious business. Theyd rightfully be out of a license for a good long time.

have your lock on a rack for ease of panel damage, and road rage.

i had a porche cayynne thingey try to reverse into me, so i used my sharp pedals down the side of his car.

M3ta7h3ad

it was about 10 seconds of "wtf" and my pedals made a not... bang noise but a sorta high pitched popping noise as he drove into me, Think I smashed his headlight.

That and the fact he had me on his bonnet.

Im pretty sure I hurt him bad.

Havent reported it as theyd go "yeah thats nice mate..." as ive no other witnesses, and no reg number. Just a car make.

Serious

I was in a car when another ran into the back, I had the number recorded in about five seconds, using a camera...

Also recorded the drivers face too so there was no way for them to worm out of it...

Bit hard to pull out a mobile phone when your busy pushing yourself off of a bonnet and trying to get out of the road so that cars may go past.

Tbh i would have reversed, looked and run you over you properly the second time had you done that to my car. Then whould you still be in the mood to damage my car i would line up for a third go.

Lining up your pedals is legal, Ive done it when someone tried to cut it too close, with old style metal bike pedals. Driver wasnt too happy about the mark right down the side of his car but as I, and the police pointed out to him it was *his fault* for not giving me enough room while overtaking.

Running over someone - or trying it is going to get you in real trouble. Its at least attempted murder.

Car drivers should take reasonable care, same as bikers

Had to get it straightened again

But the drivers insurance had to pay. And it needed a respray for damaged paintwork too...

Go back to that intersection on the same day, same time a few times. Bring a camera. You still need to file a report immediately. When you find the car, then you can update the cops.

lol i joust with my bike lock with inconsiderate road users. if they want to chuck me across their bonnet they better have a good defence barrister.

Got the repair bill Ã,£24.

Paid for by dad :D.

3 spokes replaced, rear axle/spindle replaced, and comment of "that rim is solid as a rock, damn good rim that. No name on it but its a keeper". :|

Guess with all the cheesy parts on the apollo budgety bike o greatness, theres bound to be at least one good part.

It could very well be an Alex. They supply OEM to a lot of manufacturers from Bianchi to department store. My fixie has the silver Ace 19 sans stickers, and theyre bruisers. Alex uses a stronger aluminum alloy than their competitors. The drawback is that unless the rim is powder coated and machined, it looks a bit rough after being pulled through the die.

Arent you glad you didnt ask?

You got a great deal at the shop. Sounds like sympathy pricing. Id have done the same.

redneck

nice! im sure every bike shop would do it, come in bleeding with spokes in your leg, an you ask can you have your wheel rebuilt. then collapse.
