Friend of mine has a 111S - theyre not that quick, and the activa has it round corners.

Notable track performance was on top gear where the clio sport 182 lapped faster than an elise 111s.

Man that thing gathers speed at a crazy rate :mrgreen:

Id love to see it in the hands of the stig.

LOL - funny thing is one of my mates has a clio sport & another has an elise - the guy with the clio sport told my other mate with the lotus that his was faster - mate didnt belive him but its just a clio!

Theyre a tad on the overhyped side. Far too uncomfortable and bumpy for the road. And they dont have the grip of an activa even on the track - but they are fun to drive i guess.

Using my g-meter, with me and him in it, the best 0-60 he could achieve was 6.8 seconds - its supposed to do it in 5.0 - I think not.

Ive seen 6.8 out of a BX16V and 6.0 out of a Lotus Sunbeam on Standard engines on the same g-meter.

The 111R is the way to do it, in an elise if you ask me.

A nice high revving engine, which is suitable for a drivers type of car - stir that gear-lever, and keep it in the power down the country lanes..  fun

Tempted to get a 111R when they come down in price a bit, just for a bit of fun for 6 months or so.

Group 20, and 0NCB kills it rather, though..

IIRC my mate pays about 1300 pa & is 25 with about 6 - 7 years no claims

IIRC he did have to wait till after his birthday to get insurance else it would have been too pricey

Hrmm the Veyron is superfast on the straights yes but seems a bit wank through the twisties to me...

hmmm I dunno, maybe...  but the Veyron weighs a huge amount, and the 111S well.. doesnt

So on the twisties, I would imagine something like a veyron to be only fairly good

Lets face it, the veyron was designed to cruise at silly speeds, with the driver in absolute comfort. The Lotus was designed to be hooned around corners and the like as fast as you can.
