doesnt look in too bad a shape for what is probably a 50 year old vehicle after a heavy duty accident!

maximusotter

Its more owner error than anything else. I wouldnt go seriously 4x4ing in any vehicle that didnt have a cage welded up.

knighty

yeah, cant expect too much from some of the modders whove stuck new top 1/2s on them.

/me want;s to buy a unimog just to tease BXGTi16V with it :p

Serious

Quote from: maximusotterDeathtraps, tbh.

Safe enough providing you dont start the engine ;)

Why oh Why would he need that snorkle up there?!

Unless the water is *really* choppy. But I dont think even that vehicle would go through that much water, and if it did, wouldnt the driver have to wear scuba gear ?

redneck

its for those determined folks :D

I don;t know about unimogs, but Ive seen big ex army veichles (troop cariers, transporters etc...) on tv driving through mud thats comming up over the bonnet !  (pretty impresive stuff)

was a mini series on men and motors a while back about car collectors etc... but that episode was about these nutters with ex army 20 tonner 6 wheel drive 8ltr. engine monsters !

they also showed you a clip of a little sazuki 4x4 getting stuck in the mud on a hill, so one of the big jobbies came to towe him out.... without realiseing it the guy towing just kept driving as normal as the rope on the 4x4 was too long... ended up flipping the 4x4 lingways then onto the roof and up the hill :D

Bah youve started me off on a hummer obsession!!

Mark

A unimog U5000 (Probably the lower end ones as well) eat hummers for breakfast - three feet and over ground clearance vs nowhere near as much tbh, and unimogs can pull trains - there is a railroad version.

Search for some of the videos on the net to you see - or go to

www.maximog.com to see the ultimate mog !

A friend of mine has just bought a U5000 over from germany - its an absolute BEAST, he runs it on red diesel and insurance is next to nothing. I HAVE to drive it over a house someday

mr_roll  just think of the fuel it would use, you got Ã,£5k to keep the tank full for a year?

Only if I use it to rip several cash machines out the wall with. ;)
