Quote from: Binary ShadowIm really wanting to pass my bike test before it gets harder later in the year, iv never ridden a bike that wasnt powered by my legs tho.. got a long way to go

is there any point in buying a 125cc bike (with gears) before passing a CBT?

Nope as you wont be able to ride it without the CBT anyway. Unless its on private land.

Mark

Or in Northern Ireland. no CBT required here.

Ive been looking at bikes again too, but in traditional male "Tim Taylor" Arrgh arrgh arrgh More Power kinda way.

Started at some SV650s for commuting purposes, then made may way up to the Suzuki GSX1400.
Just gotta sell my bus now.

madmax

none from the other side yet, only snapped it after washing her  8-)

Privateer

get this, Ghostrider now legally holds the world speed wheelie record, he done it on this, buy one of these, good traffic dodgers.

soopahfly

Im sorry but a Busa is not a good traffic dodger.

CCM/KTM make the best for that.

Binary Shadow

dodging traffic, id say youd been loads of torque for quick pull away rather than tons of power at the top end.. i dont know what im talking about though

mr_roll

I got my CBT like... Was good fun but damn you feel exposed, just got to get myself up to test standard and do my test.

is that not the whole point?

dodging traffic = more predicticing what theyre going to or not going to do and something that steers well and is nimble,
round town / city a scooter can be just as quick as a 900cc bike, if not quicker!, more likely to get classed as annoying spotty teenager and subject to road rage though  :mutley:

exposed vs having a big steel safety cage, thats why being intimidated on a bike is fooking scary vs someone doing the same to you in a car....

bike = under their car if they *really* wanna get locked up and notta lot you can do vs overtake a row of traffic,
thats my favourite habit, get away from tail gaters or boy racers is overtake 2 or three cars and sit infront of less aggressive cars.
