And i thought it was easy to remove an engine..

Its been weeks since i started, and its still not out, altho theres not much left to do now.

I cant believe how much stuff connects to the engine, it truely is the heart of a car.

Still give it 2 weeks and itll be out, would be nice if i had time during the week but work gets in the way.

redneck

its makes the car go. of course its the heart lol

Calibra engines always seem so big and complicated when Ive looked at them....

Pug 106/205 etc engines just drop straight out no problem at all...

Madrocker

I droped the engine out of my mini in 3 hours and the new one in, in 5.
Still pissing about trying to get it to run properly though.

My 1st day of work experience, worked at Priory BMW as a Mechanic. The 1st day I was helping a bloke change a cyclinder block on a 316 compact thing, I think. It took us 1 day to do all of that.

i thought you unbolted the calibra engine and lifted the car to get it out :\
my old MK2 was a dream to take the engine out of.

Binary Shadow

yes you can do that if you drop everything out of the front, thats what im going to do but to disconnect everything you end up stripping this much off

bear

In some cars it is so easy like in passat u can loosen 4 bolts
in underneath and the front macphearson struts and just lift the chassi :)  in old beetles it could be done in 5 minutes.

Binary Shadow

ah yeah its easy to do once you have disconnected:

the loom
the PAS
the 4x4 system
the cooling system
the oil cooler
the heater
the intercooler
the vac and boost lines from the turbo charger..

it goes on and on lol
