Post by: jamieL on September 12, 2007, 19:17:07 PM
Hi all, so I just picked my new car up a couple of days ago!

Its a 1991 J reg mkII golf - 1.8 Driver model in white.

45k on the clock
completely mint. Its perfect condition and the engine is running fantastic

I love it! Couldnt be happier.

I sold a VW Golf Cabrio Convertible for £1100 5 years ago.
1.8l, Reccaro Seats, etc. - It was l00vely.

Its had one previous owner, and full receipts, the work done is all VW garage work, so no back street work. Personally to find one in this condition is extremely difficult. Who cares what the book says, its what it means to you, and what your willing to pay. :)

if your refering to me then you are sadly mistaken, at the end of the day cars have a percieved value.. and if you pay more than that there must be a reason but joe public wont see it

Its an enthusiast thing really? True?

I doubt I could find one in the North-East in as good as quality as this one.

Exactly. I could have very easily gotten the same car for less, but in worse condition - But I wanted a perfect example.

Its like buying some perfect condition second hand underwear - Theyre perfectly fine and do the job just as well as new ones.. But youd rather pay that bit extra for them new.

(Strange way of putting it, I must admit!)

Im (very) happy with it and thats all that matters :)

Very strange, you wouldnt want to wear other peoples used underwear unless you were one of the freaks who gets off in used panties. Or at least I wouldnt.

TBH I dont wear any underwear at all.

As to the car it will last you longer with less maintainance needed so its probably going to be a worthwhile price.
