The bbc had to put the whole reader messages bit for it under quarantine because of all the people shouting abuse at Ferrari and the stewards..

Not yet seen anyone that agrees with it other then Ferrari and their fanboys, It is just yet another example of Ferrari moaning and the FIA/Stewards doing everything and anything for them and any chance they get to have a stab at McLaren they do so.
Hamilton Was late for something not to long ago and apperently fined for $5000 but the previous meeting Massa and 2 others (was at work, it came on radio, forget names) were late and not fined.

It is just stupid, I have seen it 5 times now and Hamilton was close and forced off the track basically, just a real good tussle and so he went off the track, got back on slowed and tucked under the ferrari and then out braked him in the next corner fair and square.

I think its a bit harsh, especially the 25 second penalty.  But their explanation is undertandable.  Its not that complicated.

Its really quite simple.  Kimi was defending his posistion on the chicane.  Leaving hamilton with the option of following into the next section and getting into his slip stream or trying round the other side, if there was enough grip or not,

He chose, chose being the key word, to cut the chicane, and simply took kimis slipstream to overtake after.

In short, he got an advantage by taking cutting the track, regardless of if he slowed down to resume posistion.

I felt quite bad for kimi tbh.  That was his race till it rained.

Thing is though, a lot including a fair amount of the drivers have said Hamilton had no choice as he was given no room, he did choose to cut the chicane but if he did not they would have hit.
Someone on the bbc site did a full run down of it all and with the speeds etc and Hamilton was slow down the straight giving back the lead and fully behind and then once there used the slipstream and then the breaking. Basically in that move there was no advantage from cutting the previous corner and he indeed give the position back and before breaking in the next corner his car was slower then the Ferrari, he just did him straight the way through the breaking.

What you said is correct he got advantage but you do not get that punishment do or die you know, the rules state that you have to give back the position if you do so, otherwise you occur a penalty which normally is 10 second stop and go which works out at 25 odd seconds on that track.
Hamilton did this and there is no current rule that states x amount of time or x amount of corners before you can challenge that position so while instantly taking it back Hamilton gave up that position in the first place so to to rules he followed them, maybe the rules should update to say something about taking the lead again in a certain period after if they do not like that but as it stands they should not have given him the penalty if you go by the letter of the law.

Ferrari moaned after the fact when he won and the stewards have caved and even people in the FIA are not best pleased with the inconsistency of the season and talk of stewards being one group who travel to each race and not different ones all the time.

You can see why they had cause but there was not query raised by them during the race as normally happens "x car is under investigation" which normally occurs within 1/2 to 1 lap and there were 2/3 to go. It was only when Ferrari made the complaint.

"In the closing stages of the race I was catching Kimi consistently, lap by lap, and with three laps remaining I got close enough to attempt to overtake him on the entry to the last chicane," Hamilton said.

"I managed to get slightly ahead of him in the braking area for the first apex of the chicane. He fought back approaching the second apex - but, in doing so, he left no room for me on the inside line. The only way for me to avoid a collision was therefore to cut inside the second apex.

"I came out of the second apex in front of Kimi and so I momentarily lifted-off on the straight, to ensure that Kimi got back in front.

"The team also came on the radio and instructed me to allow Kimi to re-pass, which I had already done. As a result, Kimi crossed the start/finish line ahead of me and 6.7km/h quicker than me.

"After allowing Kimi to completely re-pass, I crossed from the left side of the track to the right side of the track, passing behind Kimi in the process. I then attacked Kimi on the inside of the first corner, and successfully out-braked him."

Whitmarsh added:
Quote
"From the pit wall, we then asked race control to confirm that they were comfortable that Lewis had allowed Kimi to re-pass, and they confirmed twice that they believed that the position had been given back in a manner that was OK.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7603179.stm

So not only Did he follow what he thought were the rules and there will be the voice communication and speed data proof to the above.
What gets me is McLaren new they would be funny about things and checked TWICE! and hopefully there will be record of this and if there is then they have to give it back to him no?

You can not say - yeah, your ok when asked and then after the fact when Ferrari come moaning change your mind.
"If race control had instead expressed any concern regarding Lewiss actions at that time, we would have instructed Lewis to allow Kimi to re-pass for a second time."
