Need four new tyres soon - Need 225/45/18s. The current shortlist is below but more suggestions welcome..!

Toyo T1Rs - have these currently and have been very happy with them

Vredestein ultracs - seen some good reports of these

Vredestein Sessanta - new tyre in the UK and again very good reports. Cool looking tyre !

Yokohama Parada Spec 2 - looks very similar to the Sessanta

goodyear eagle f1 mate - none better (Apart from my trackday tyres r-888s)

The goodyears handle a lot better than the t1-rs in my experience. thats on the mr2 turbo, 944 turbo, and on the lotus sunbeam.

i like my Continental Sport Contact 2s, they are awesome in the dry and very good in the wet. crap in snow tho.

my rears have done 27k and still got plenty of life, fronts have done 15k and are going on the inside, but i give them some serious stick.

contisports are pretty good - but because theyre a hard wearer they dont have the grip the eagles or toyos do - imo.

Ive been through at least 2 dozen of these in 225/40R18 and they are excellent. The ride is better and tyre noise is less than other things Ive tried too. Replaced by Sport Contact 3 now. Its not a budget tyre though. Also, I dont believe its designed to be a hard-wearing tyre, Continentals promotional focus on this model is performance and water clearance.

The toyos or the F1s theyre the best known and from what I read there aint a lot of difference. I got the F1s and theyre awesome, they just wont let go of the road.

I had yokos on my souped up mini and they stuck like poo and looked cool but apparently they start going crap after a few thousand miles.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

yokos and toyos are soft, get them if youre not bothered about putting new ones on in a years time. however none of the above are a proper performance tyre, yoko do a semi slick which is legal for the road if you want something really sticky.

Goodyear eagle F1s are about the best all round performance tyre you can drive on all day, not as good as others in the wet but they make up for it in handling in the dry and tyre wear.

where can u get the vredesteins from?
i had some on my old car and they were great

Another vote for the f1s although the d2s are better (but dont look as nice)
