I think suspicions have been confirmed about the power going away every so often, taking tha car back up the M1 from Sheffield it simply would not accelerate past about 70-80mph, even if I dropped back down to third. The power just seemed to go for some reason. Since I cant use a vagcom is it worth me just getting the MAF changed if thats likely to be the problem?

Binary Shadow

check theres no damage to any of the hoses, could be the boost leaking after the turbo

Clock'd 0Ne

Right, Ill take a look tomorrow morning probably. Anyone know where the bonnet release is on a 96 Audi A4, I looked earlier inside the car and couldnt find it  :whoops:

Chris

RTFM

check the actuator linkage is intact and that the wastegate isnt stuck open as a result.

Clock'd 0Ne

The only thing I havnt got or found for this car yet is a manual :bounce:

I dont know what an actuator linkage or wastegate are. Time to get the Audi Haynes?

Bacon

Not sure if i remember but i think its in the passenger side footwell to open the bonnet :P

Youre funny. Remind me to book you a slot at Jongleurs.

Eggtastico

Quixoticish

Im at a loss for an answer to this.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

DEViANCE

the power loss will either be boost loss due to a split intercooler hose or fueling due to the duff maf sensor.

you could try unplugging the maf sensor to test it, not sure on Audis but on rovers it can restore the low down fueling but the topend fueling will still be limited.
