Anyone used this? I just filled up with it, cant really feel any difference yet.

The car feels a bit smoother and quieter but ill have to see how it goes.

It cost 99.9p/litre opposed to 93.9 for regular diesel so I doubt ill be using it regularly.

Wont it be similar to the argument over 95, 98 and 102 ron fuel?

If your car isnt designed to run on it then it wont prove much of a good option?

im not sure tbh.

with the super unleaded argument you dont feel a difference on most cars because they cant adjust the timing to make use of the extra octane.

on most diesels the injection timing is continiously changed to make the most of inlet temp, maf sensor, fuel quality etc

ERU

Makros does 20L of veggie oil for a score if your after performance fuel.

Ceathreamhnan

I topped up 3/4 of a tank with it and forgot Id done so, so didnt notice a difference! Ill try harder next time I see some.

DEViANCE

I havent noticed any difference at all, even got less MPG. Probably because I have been thrashing it trying to feel some difference, total waste of money.

My mate swears the £1/L petrol gives way better mileage than the cheap stuff.

I tried it in mine, tbh theres no difference but its supposed to be good for older engines, decoking & stuff. Bollocks imo.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Chris

My old Mk1 R5 used to get terrific mileage on Texaco LRP petrol, and worse on Asdas.  Better on Tescos too.

DEViANCE

supermarket fuel doesnt go anywhere near my car, tesco and asda fuel gives a very noticable decrease in performance and on how happy the engine sounds.

Could purely be psychological. Same reason Deviance gave for his increased MPG.

If he believe he is getting the best performance out of his car, then he doesnt need to thrash it :) Where as... cheaper petrol, hes probably thrashing it a wee bit more, thinking he needs to, to get the decent performance :) maybe??? I dont drive... so er... thats all bollocks really :D

ive never had a problem with Sainsburys fuel, but then again its just BP i think.  I wont use Texaco fuel, ive found the Vectra hates it even more than the Civic did.  It runs Lumpy, I put some in when i was stuck and needed petrol NOW, i was glad i only put £10 worth in!

Mark

sainsburys petrol over here is some of the best due to its freshness. It shifts the fastest as its the cheapest

I wonder if the petrol companies would give me funds to actually test different petrols... Get a car from a local dealership and test it on the rollers at a local Dyno.

M3ta7h3ad

lol roll... not another get rich quick scheme...

Doubt it. Wouldnt be surprised if they did their own testing themselves. Why would it benefit them for you to do a review of petrol... each car would behave differently Id assume.

It would be an independent test, theyd see truth in that that they could show customers that arent sure about buying their petrol.

I might draw up an email to shell and see what they say...
