but by golly it f*cks your legs over, big style...

did a quick 1.5hr cyclocross style ride today on the bike...

...it was a swampy 1.5hrs too, with a fair bit of technical singletrack and fast downhill bits, and my legs are shagged now... i now know how bamby felt. :(

because its a 29inch wheel affair and also fully rigid, on-one put a 2.3 tyre upfront and a 2.1 on the bike - it handles like a dream and corners like its on rails, but in muddy terrain its a nightmare in places...

still it was fun...

until i wake up in the morning like ironside...

LOL, I did eight miles of unpaved access road as part of a ride  last week with 90 psi tires. Got back home  after 90 minutes and had  to shake my arms to get feeling back in my hands. I think Ill  go  down  to 60psi next time. :D

im sticking my conti twisters on the bike for the next ride... 11 quid each from on-one... should make things a bit easier until summer.

Looks to be in line with classic cxcross tires. Widely spaced mud throwing knobs, with not too much height to make  em  fast.

yes, but narrower.

the inbred runs cx-cross/xc style rims, so i went for a slightly more narrow than normal tyre.

For overland stuff thats none too rocky, seems 32-5 would be fine.I do fire roads all the time with 30mm,  though its a bit crazy on the crushed gravel used to patch the  really nasty parts.
