(Nice new forums btw!)

Back in August, all shiny and new...

Monday morning, broken down in the outside lane of the A57 Mosborough parkway with no power

Half an hour later...

The offending Clio and driver...

Now cat c, valued at precisely £137 :(

It was the 200bhp v6 with a manual gearbox, now getting rarer and rarer :(

When you found you had no power, why didn't you move over to the side?
Or bounce it off the starter to get rolling, unless it's auto :s

It was stand still traffic, had hand brake on when it died... Lost electric so engine wouldn't keep running :(

Ah :(

I always liked these, they just send the power to the wrong wheels.

Maldonado

Yeah, i probably wouldn't get one again solely due to the fact that spinning the front wheels in the first 3 gears gets tedious! You still driving your soarer?

XEntity

I wanted to get the exact same model, but circumstances have recently changed that means I can't now!

It's a shame though mate, that spec is indeed very rare, have you considered buying it back, and fixing it up?

soopahfly

Yeah, as and when though, as 15mpg is also tedious.

Been looking at other cost minimised options for a year or so, as a work vehicle, save some coins and then get either a TT Soarer, Supra or GT-Four.

you should have stayed in the car.. nice whiplash claim & you'd have money for a real fast car

Yeah apart from the bit that you could end up with whiplash! And that's not fun!

Maldonado

I'll be buying it back, have been offered £400 for it, i don't fancy it because i'm pretty sure the rear nearside suspension is bent, and the crumpled quarter panel actually goes right the over the roof and down the other side - would need cutting and welding so is more than i'm looking to do.

@egg - check the white mark in the second pic and how far it got shunted.... Would have been a damn painful experience, not an easy claim!

You're supposed to get out if you break down, so it would probably have been thrown out being your own fault.

DEViANCE

Gutted for you, they are nice cars and as you said the manual gearbox models are rare and command a premium price, make sure your insurance company know that.

If you have found someone that will take it off you if you buy it back great, but if not I wouldnt bother it looks like it might have to go on a jig to straighten it out.

Maldonado

The insurers are giving me enough to cover the purchase price and the work I had done on the car so no complaints there, they've been very good but then the other drive admitted full responsibility so my insurers won't end up out of pocket.

Edd

How'd she manage to plow into you if you were stopped and had your hazards on?

What did the police say at the accident?

No, because falsely making whiplash claims just causes everyone else to suffer and just makes you a total c**t to be honest.
