What a bunch of wannabe "outlaw" losers. While Im very much against something like mandatory helmet laws for cyclists, Im very much for laws that affect the safety of others. Dont have lighting or brakes? A $70 fine seems quite fair to me. :shrug: Bloody scenesters, tbh.

I think they should require two brakes for any road going bike, tbh. Its a nice place to have redundancy. I ride fixed with front and rear calipers and its nice to know that youve got em if you want em. And what do they weigh? About 500g for front, rear, and some levers. Sheesh.

There are bikes where back-pedalling acts as a brake, Ive ridden once, but it isnt my preferred option. Two brakes give more control.
