Top Gear returns on Sunday 28th January, complete with Hamster :)

http://www.topgear.com/content/news/stories/1430/

Includes pics of Lego Vampire dragster and Top Gear studio presented by Andy Woodman of Lego UK since Hamster was nice enough to say that playing with Lego sped his recovery.
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo... Again.

QuoteTOP Gear will return to TV on January 28  Ã¢â,¬â€ and WILL  screen Richard Hammondââ,¬â,,¢s crash.

BBC chiefs have been deliberating for months whether to show the 288mph dragster smash that left presenter Richard ââ,¬â€ nicknamed The Hamster ââ,¬â€ close to death.

But last night co-host Jeremy Clarkson, 46, said: ââ,¬Å"Half the world wants to see the crash so Iââ,¬â,,¢m sure we will show it.

ââ,¬Å"Weââ,¬â,,¢re looking into whether weââ,¬â,,¢ve enough footage of good quality. I imagine weââ,¬â,,¢ll be using it in the first show.ââ,¬Â

Sun columnist Clarkson said Hammond, who suffered brain damage and amnesia after the September crash, was happy for the footage to be broadcast as he wanted to view it.

He said: ââ,¬Å"Richard has no idea what happened to him so he will be as keen as everyone else to see it.ââ,¬Â

Dad-of-two Hammond, 37, has made an amazing recovery and will join Clarkson and their fellow host James May in the studio on January 24 to film footage for the showââ,¬â,,¢s BBC2 return the following Sunday.

Clarkson joked that Hammond could mark his return in daredevil fashion ââ,¬â€ by PARACHUTE or arriving in a TANK. He also revealed that, despite Hammondââ,¬â,,¢s crash, the next series will feature 35 stunts ââ,¬â€ including the launch of a home-made space shuttle.

Clarkson added: ââ,¬Å"We have also got footage of us being chased out of Alabama after locals thought we were homosexuals.ââ,¬Â

Serious

Hope everyone saw it did some good braking - with his head!

Once the tyre went he should have released the chute ASAP, might have reduced the damage, or avoided the worst. That is of course excellent after sight and Im not sure if he could have done anything more than he did at the time.

Cypher

"...and when that happens Ive got 10,000 Horsepower and possibly the biggerst accident youve ever seen in your life".

I think it was 0.4 seconds from the tire going to hitting the grass. At 288mph you couldnt even comprehend what was happening quick enough to do anything.

What was awesome (and came up in the magazine) that you can see in the video was the left lock applied right after the tire went, which is what prompted the "fighter pilot" reflex comment from the telemetry guys.

So he really did steer into the skid then. Good man.

he did, He actually had good control of it when he lost it if you follow, the only thing that made it go a bit wrong was the grass verge being a little high sending it in the air and rolling.
He did well And I am glad he is better
