Post by: M3ta7h3ad on June 28, 2006, 09:52:43 AM
looking at thepark tool website it seems a fairly simple procedure. only thing is i dont have a spoke wrench, as im off work today, just wondering if its possible to do with pliers.

I did mine with some pliers.  Then I bought a spoke wrench off ebay for like 99p, havent used it yet though.  I would say if youve got more than a couple of spokes to tighten then get a wrench, for comforts sake :)

Prepare for posts saying "aahahhhhh noooooes!!! I broked my megahurtz!" or similar :D

Dont do it. Youll likely round off the nipples. If you must, oil the threads first. Start with 1/4 turns and remember that its righty-loosey, lefty-tighty. Better option when you dont have a wrench is to remove tire and tube and true with a small flat blade screwdriver from inside the rim.

Never did get around to it that day, ended up sorting other crap out with mates and banks and ugh!

But think truing will be a weekend thing to do :) Front wheel first :D
