Basically a phone that contacts the emergency services if your car crashes and tells them where it is. If you are injured you might not be able to use a normal moble and this ensures help arrives promptly but whats stopping them using it to locate your position and speed? Could be the ultimate spy in the cab too.

On the plus side if your transport is stolen then it might be useful in tracking it down too :/

Whats the matter with a tracker system for having a car stolen though?

I think its a good idea, but I think tis to much big brother tbh.

You can get On-Star for GM vehicles over here. If I had a granny driving around in the states, Id make sure she had a subscription. They can trackyour vehicle, sense that youve had an accident and see if youre OK, call police, EMTs, etc, and they can even unlock your car via a phone call.

i was under the impression it was a press button to call for help with GSM and GPS to aid it and nowt else

I was just thinking theres nothing to stop them adding the other features. It will also operate automatically when the cars airbags deploy, just in case those inside cant press the button.

ahh so on certain cars youll get an ambulance after bumping the kerb lol i know of 2 people that have bumped kerbs in fords and had the airbags go off lol
