Providing they are clean and well looked after there is no problem using old sponges and shammys.

As for the fairy liquid I have said before - providing you rinse it off properly and wax the car will look just as good as the most expensive jobs and last as long. The tiny bit of salt in it is nothing compared to that picked up from the road whilst driving.

IT also means your windows are squeaky clean  :mrgreen:

I agree completely.  You can quite happily wash your car with regular stuff fine.  Or you can go the solid-gold-hifi-mains-cable snake oil way and spend £100 on cleaning products.  For a car.

Look, either way none of us are washing a lambo so it really matters very little.  Washing your car three times a week with expensive waxes is just fine, but you really shouldnt look down on joe average with an extra few notes in his pocket all because he doesnt mind if he cant blind people with the reflections from his grille.  Theres more to life  :roll:

I use bubble bath instead of fairy liquid, it doesnt make the paint feel as dry.

only thing ive bought to clean my car is a chamois, sponge, some shampoo and some autoglym polish cause the paintwork was getting v bad
