I would like to see mandatory[/u] motorway instruction at some point. They are dangerous places for the goddamned n00bs they let on them; its bad enough avoiding the sans-indicator mondeo brigade.

I would like to see some smandatory after test training. Not another test more like just a few hours of extra instruction along the lines of pass plus, ie skidpans, night driving, motorway driving, bad weather driving (hard to implement perhaps) etc.

Also have you ever had a test where you have to say what you are doing a the time? My dad has to do that when he gets reassessed for emergency driving in the fire service (I assume the police and ambulance drivers do the same) you end up driving at about 20mph as you are trying to do too much. The problem with a 2hr test is not that people cant drive for that length of time its that test conditions are stressful and cause nerves to make it so much harder. Im sure msot people (like myself) who have failed driving tests will have been driving fine in the preceding few lessons but nerves on the day bugger them up.  Because I was a lot more relaxed for my PCV test I passed that first time despite it being longer than the car test and driving through central london instead of a rural town!

Driving Test re-tests every 10 years, tbh.  That should sort the feckers out.
