Title: Under 25 Van Hire
Post by: soopahfly on May 14, 2007, 13:57:23 PM
Im going to be needing a van in the coming months, only for a day to move everything that me, the missus + 1 need to shift from one student house to the house one of the housemates have bought.  All the places Ive seen are over 25s only. Im 24 :(

So, can anyone suggest any places that will rent me something like Transit/Vito sized for a day?  It will need to be in or arounds leeds.

Europcar used to when i worked there, though there is a Young driver supplement for the insurance.  Also Sixt (was Kennings) used to.

SheffieldForum - search - Man and Van -- Ive not paid more than £40 for a man & van yet, and moved twice.

My mate also used donkey on there and paid about £60 to move his stuff to York.

From experience they usually turn up in clapped out Luton vans, but theres usually a couple of blokes, so not only do you get assistance from two burleys but you also get the van.

Probably cheaper than hiring too.

edit:

Missed the fact you were in Leeds, but im sure theres something similar!

Have a feeling National were one company who would when I was looking for a van to hire.

Ended up stealing an estate for the day instead though, so not 100% sure.

Borrow some ones Volvo ;) not mine though :P

Or if you have the cash, get a Volvo estate for ~£350 and then after you sell it, re MOT it, clean it and then sell it, maybe for more than you bought it for.

Why not try blagging one from a dealership...
Hi, Im looking to start a business and need a small tranny sized van to evaluate for a day or 2, could I borrow one? ;)
