:ptu:

Could do with cantis instead of the discs. Wouldnt want to have to source a rotor in Timbuktu. ;)

Notice the S&S couplers, this thing can be broken down and checked in regular baggage. :D

Also check out the worlds coolest threadless stem. :D

Now thats what I call nice couplers.

Not sure if this model runs a threadless system but Id like to find out.

pervert. :P

that bike looks really nice, aesthetically the only thing that spoils it is the colour matched muddies... but it looks seriously sweet, very "english touring bike..."

Heretic! Its the fenders in matching laquer that makes the thing look so sharp. Almost like a machine from the gilded age. Then you sneak up on it and see the discs, the brifters, the custom ti rack and low riders. I could even do with lugless construction--but gotta have color matched fenders as it makes it look like a seamless vehicle, instead of just a bunch of parts bolted together.

I was wondering if the other model had matching fender...boom boom, I thank you.

Whats interesting is that it uses a rear wheel up front. Likely as its meant for crazy Alaskan backcountry, so if you crunch a cassette, its just a matter of switching wheels. Gotta love the fork mount thermoses.

what is even more interesting is that theyve used a MOOTS frame...

...has anyone seen the price of a MOOTS frame? theyre up there with independent fabrication in terms of bike porn and stupid pricing...

No more expensive than Seven or Waterford. The former being marketed exclusively to wealthy suburbanites with waay too much money. Stopped by the shop one day, racered up--and apparently looking flush with money and muscle, and the guy randomly tried to sell me one. Me: "between you and me, we know this is $3K of unnecessary BS, comprende?"

You can find a Moots for half that--but you could also have a lesser known company braze you up a custom frame for around $1K. Moots might be nice, but at some point, youre paying for really nice decals. Hell, if youre a standard size, off the rack Taiwanese stuff aint bad at all...but if I was going on a thousand mile expedition in the back country of Alaska--customs a drop in the expense bucket, and the way to go. ;)
