Being in the Bournemouth/Poole basin area were very lucky in that bar the most minor of estate roads, were 99% snow and ice free.

However my lady friend is a bit ill and was/is planning on travelling home tomorrow to spend xmas with her mum up Wendlebury/Milton Keynes way. Ive offered to drive her given how ill she is, but am just curious just what the roads are like outside of the basin area.

In the Thames Valley all major roads are clear, its just the smaller estate roads that are still a pain in the arse.

Thanks for those links knighty, its good to be able to see the motorway cams to see that the roads are clear etc!

Sounds like weather permitting it should be fairly alright to travel. My dad reckons Im daft though accepts the intentions are admirable heh.

I was working up that way and as long as you stick to the main roads you should be fine :)

The current weather anywhere in the UK is perfect for appropriate driving technique.
