On Usenet a bit ago and a woman is obsessing over whether to use an Sram cassette as its got the right ratios, but shes scared of the 50g "weight penalty" over Dura Ace. Its not tire or wheel weight, its not swung saddle/post weight. Nope, its 50g that gets you nickel plated steel cogs that run smooth and last long. Its a sip of water or 2 seconds of pee.

Once your bike gets under 16-20#, its time to just ride the damn thing.

Freaks, I tells ya.

Ask her if she bothers emptying her bowels prior to mounting her bike.

Wierd nutters! :D lol dont see the point in lightness to be honest sure.. it may make climbs a bastard but come on mun... they are normally fit enough when they are worrying about weight to power up the hills ANYWAY! :)

Serious

I think I have added weight to mine

As M3ta7h3ad says an enema can reduce your weight significantly! :D

Inclined to agree with Max here..    and If she worked out the $/gram ratio of both, I bet she wouldnt go for the dura ace :P

Im tempted to tell her to save 400g by dropping the handlebars and steering with a thumb clamped into the stem.

Some DA stuff is nice, the brifters are legendary quality. You cant rebuild them like Campy, but they dont break and have a three year warranty. On the other hand, the DA cassettes are aluminum and ti, and in addition to costing 2-3X the price of Sram, they only last half as long. :P
