TBH, a clown that gets hit twice in 300km isnt my idea of an authority. He is right that behavior is very important. If you act meek and ride too far to the side of the road, you WILL get buzzed, compared to taking the lane. When it comes to real world adult rider accidents, so many preventitive things can be done with rider skills that far increase safety than a simply wearing a helmet, its not funny. What bugs me is focusing on the least effective way to keep folks safe despite evidence to the contrary.

Only time I get buzzed is at the start of lights, and now Ive taken to faking the "nervous wobble" when starting off, as car drivers tend to give you more space then. :)

Then again, I suppose if its possible for cyclists to suffer risk compensation, then its also possible for car drivers to believe the cyclists are safer if they wear a helmet, so pass closer.
