Despite my attempt to influence Mrs B into getting a secondhand MX5 or MGTF160 etc she decided she wanted a brand new car that was nippy and cheap to run !  

So a trip to the local Peugeot dealers and deposit put down on a new 107 5 door, aircon etc..

Yes I know the Citroen / Toyota versions might have been a bit cheaper but the Peugeot Garage is just up the road and she preferred the look of it..

What can I say - nice to look at I suppose, suprising amount of room inside and quite nippy.

Horrible plastic switches though and Fisher Price speedo and rev counter.

Unbelievably economic however - Ã,£40 car tax, Ã,£150 fully comp insurance with 0 yrs no claims bonus. 60+ MPG. Top Gear Magazine had the Aygo as car of the year last year, alongside the Veyron - how ironic is that

So at least its not gonna cost me a lot of money but somehow I think I would have preferred the MGTF160 on the odd occasion I have to drive it !

Other plus side is it will probably fit in the boot of the Forester

Havent told her yet that I plan to lower it, put on some alloys and replica 207 RCup decals ..!

At least she didnt go for that 1007.  I dont think I have seen one on the road yet.

Me either tbh. I do like the doors though.

Its an ok car. Although some reports on other forums say that dealers have been doing a "rallye" version, proof has yet to be seen though.

Aw, its very cute. Id drive one as a city scoot. The speedo/tach looks rather nice if slightly gimmicky.

i think they are great, an nippy to 600cc turbo

The Toyota Aygo  looks good enough and has good handling for a cheap supermini although it only has 2 doors.

Mate has a copen and i have a 160. The copen doesnt even come close to the mg and things seem to cost more for it as well. 160 is a good buy as i got mine new and the depretiation was phenominal. Copen is fun and feels nippy but press on and there horrible

The original is a Pergeot and thats a completely different Toyota Aygo.
