Looks like the cable on my laptop PSU to the computer has packed in, it wont suply power to the lappy dispite indicating being on... Think Im going to have to either buy a new one or do some surgery...

I had that, is it just the cable or the actual transformer?

First i bought a universal laptop adapter from maplins ( http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?TabID=1&criteria=laptop%20universal&ModuleNo=42622&doy=5m7 ) for Ã,£29.99 because I was quoted Ã,£50 for an official Toshiba one.

The connector on that broke after a few months and I did some splicing with the old connector onto the new transformer and thats been working for the last few months.

I resent it being Ã,£30 though, but i had to grin and bear it.

Its just the cable, they have used centre core and surrounding earth like TV arial cable, core has broken near the end so Im going to have to get the soldering Iron out (when I find it) and do a minor repair on it ;)
