QuoteYou used to play videogames all night. Your Quake prowess was unmatched; your skills at Command & Conquer unparalleled. You have a gaming history that stretches back beyond the PlayStation generation to the SNES, Megadrive, Amiga and ZX Spectrum. You were there at the dawn of gaming.
Tick-tock... Time passes. Youve quietly come to realise that youre not the hard-core gamer you used to be. Even your Xbox 360 Gamertag seems far too sensible. How do you know that a mid-life gaming crisis is setting in? Watch out for these warning signs...
* You prefer playing against the computer
* You only play when your girlfriend is out
* You believe that winning isnt everything
* Its been days, not hours since you last switched on your console
* Youre the oldest person trading in games at GameStation
* You like your Xbox 360 and your PS3 equally
* You fondly remember a golden age of gaming
* You avoid playing on the Wii because its too much effort
* Your FPS experience consists of spawn, run, die... spawn, run, die... spawn...
* You find the idea of videogames based on board games perfectly acceptable
* Youve pre-ordered GTA IV but dont mind if it doesnt turn up on launch day

its all back on now :nana:
I got a ps2 like 2months ago and its still in the box.

My problem isnt being past gaming, its keeping my joints and muscles going

...its all true. :sob:
ultimate: play the game

What about pong, Space invaders, defender, missile command and a whole load of other games that predated those? :P
I rarely play on the likes of the ps2 and the pc anymore, play the odd game of DoW but most my time is on the DS now when Sharon is on the phone or busy elsewhere lol
However, the spectrum zx still sits there and used for robotron :D

I realised I was no longer a hard core gamer when I realised I could now countenance the idea of buying a console. Theres also the fact that I basically dont care that its almost impossible to play anything more complex than tetris on Linux. Time was, that would have been (and was) a show stopper.

I said almost ;)
Ive got a Linux compatible version of UT GOTY edition around somewhere. I think that was about the last time I would have considered myself a hard-core gamer. The last game I bought was Doom 3!
Go get Call of Duty 4 then, got to say possibly best FPS Ive played in a long long time, personally thought Doom 3 was terrible!
Im definitely still hard core.....
Ive played on my house m8s Wii every day for the last 3 to 4 weeks. Not been able to put down Mario Kart, Ive unlocked every character and vehicle. Got at least a star rank in every cup, so now when I play online Im one of the lucky few with a gold star next to my name. Also unlocked every Expert Time Trial and beat a few as well.
Couple of weekends ago completed Prey in 7 hours, played it solid.
Started playing GTA3 Vice City and San Andreas in prepartion for getting GTA4 for my PS3.
Yep, still hard core, 25, single......... Oh dear LOL
Bow down to Walrusbonzo!
As of July I will have a fair amount of spair time, so Im guessing its going to be a MMORPG and a large amount of xbox live. Welcome back to student lifestyle :)

I miss being addicted to games, used to make it easier (and cheaper) to pass the time :)
