Nokia N80 greatness!

Woot! been trying to get this working for a while now, but only found out that Nokia have now made the Internet Edition firmware available for generic N80s yesterday.

Mine isnt a generic N80... so I had to do some hackery :D

Changed my phones product code to one that is a generic N80, using a program called "nemesis", then ran the nokia software updater, installed the firmware, and now!!!...

I can call people using my www.sipgate.co.uk account using my mobile phone which uses my WIFI in the house to connect.

9.9p a min to mobiles, 1.19p a minute to landlines. Much better than any phone contract, I predict my phone bill be a dropping fairly damn fast now :D

That... and managed to find windows live messenger for mobiles on www.mess.be installed that, and now when im at home, no need to text people if they are online (most of the time they are), can quite happily chat away from the comfort of my bed, just using the wifi! :D

Loving it!!! :D

Dare I say it... landline?  I now round me ntl do pay as you go landlines which are stupidly cheap.  You can spend hours on them and your balance barely changes.

Shared Household. Wifi SIP also damn cheap. Landlines are not cheap for calling mobile phones.

No line rental, I can accept incoming calls whenever/whereever I am providing im covered with a wifi hotspot, and its a local number (029 20 [cardiff]) so people calling me dont get penalised. I just top up my account as and when I need it.

The ideal solution.

Save a good bunch on what it would cost me on a landline as most of my calls are to mobiles during the day before work.
