picky?

I dislike being forced into using an inferior browser (in my opinion) because someone broke something that they cant be arsed to fix.

No not till aprill 11th as unlike all the other companies M$ only fixes exploits on a monthly basis

Will it cause a nuclear war :o ?!

Probably not and so, on the grand scheme of things it isnt that serious.

fwiw, all of these exploits require you to visit a website that is hosting the appropriate delivery mechanisim. If youre the sort of person who ventures to those sorts of sites then you should know better than to be on Windows in the first place.

I like using IE, its so flaky it adds an extra thrill to browsing the web always wondering when the next crash will come.

There are now at least three exploits waiting to be plugged on April 11th, one will just crash your PC, the other two allow malicious code to be run on your computer.

They alledgedly have bug fixes but are delaying putting them oyut until their normal release date, which I think is stupid. However they will release them early if a serious problem appears.

I have 600 users all using internet explorer, and 150 users using firefox and IE

Guess which one I have the most issues with? Guess again.

Probably Fire Fox as many sites use Microsofts custom products that wont work with FF.

LOL user error and the fact hat serious said is the biggest problem. IE does not conform to the standards so you cant blame FF etc for sites designed to work with IE.

I know FF has some quirks every now and then but compared to IE its the dogs nads. IE is so old now and they still keep finding holes in it. Lets hope 7 is better for the sake of the people who dont know better.

Firefox is completely useless in a corporate environment as it cant be controlled by group policy in the same way - there are stabs at it but they are useless compared to the built in functionality for IE - therefore in the corporate enviornment, it is firefox that causes the security issues - for example users can change the proxy settings etc themselves leading to unauthorised access - I count this as a MAJOR flaw. We only allow it where we absolutely HAVE to for this reason.

Firefox is a good solution for the home user, its pretty worthless in enterprise. Hopefully it will get better, but lets face it, if MS improve IE as much as they improved server and SQL there wont be much call for firefox...
